Undercoating : Why We Use Both Woolwax and Waxoyl

That's why our rustproofing process combines WoolWax and Waxoyl, with each product applied where its unique properties offer the most benefit.
WoolWax – Flexible Protection for Hidden Areas
WoolWax is a lanolin-based rust inhibitor that stays soft and never fully hardens.
We primarily use WoolWax for rustproofing areas where moisture can hide, including:
- Doors, hoods, and hatches
- Internal body cavities and enclosed panels
- Seams, crevices, and hard-to-reach areas
- Underneath floorboards
- Hidden areas where moisture can accumulate
Because WoolWax remains soft and continues to migrate into small gaps, it provides protection in areas that can be difficult to reach with conventional coatings.
Waxoyl – Durable Protection for High-Wear Areas
While WoolWax handles the hidden areas, Waxoyl is our choice for surfaces exposed to greater road wear and harsh driving conditions.
We use Waxoyl underbody protection on areas such as:
- Vehicle frames
- Rocker panels and exposed lower body sections
- High-wear undercarriage areas
- Surfaces exposed to gravel, road spray, salt, and debris
These areas regularly encounter abrasive road conditions, especially during our Canadian winters.
Our Waxoyl application is intended to provide a durable protective barrier that helps defend against corrosion and everyday road exposure.

By combining WoolWax's flexible, penetrating rustproofing properties with the durable protection of our Waxoyl underbody coating, we're able to target different areas of your vehicle with the products best suited to them.
